After One Week

Well, I am Happy to say that after one week of following the Weight Watchers plan, I have lost 2.8lbs.  I am really feeling it too, because I feel so much better.  I am not hungry and I am not board with it yet. 

I make sure to have a variety of meals during the week and that is my strategy.

Great Food

I have really been eating some great food this week.  I made my own Apple Crisp recipe and top it with sugar free/fat free ice cream.  I made enough for us to have it for several nights and it is so good.  I use Raisin bran, and apples that are stewed.  Yummy!!

I have had some scrumptious Talapia and tonight I am having Turkey/Beef Burgers, with baked chips.  Yeah!!!

Breakfasts have been good too.  I love my Banana French Toast....

Feeling Great

It's Day 3 on my Journey to being a "Skinny Southern Girl" and I feel great!


Not hungry yet.  My new strategy of having a more substantial lunch is working.  I just had Tilapia, prepared in corn meal in the oven, with okra and tomaotes as a side.   This is leftover from dinner last night.  Lunch is not boring anymore.

Day TWO

Well, my first day went very well.  I didn't even feel hungry.  I made up my own recipe last night for Chicken wraps.  I will give it to you when I revise it, because after I made it I realized some improvements.  It was really easy, because you just build the recipe, by entering what you put in.  I used the medium, whole wheat tortillas and they were great. 

I also brought that for lunch this morning, because I am really tired of sandwiches.  I am determined to make it go around more interesting.  So that I look forward to meals. 

I am trying to drink plenty of water today and I am going to try really hard to begin some activity with the Wii today.

THE BIG DAY

My big day is finally here.
This morning I weighed and Guess What?
I did not weigh as much as I estimated
I weighed 344.1 lbs.
I know still not great, but a better starting point.
I'll put more in later. Just wanted to put a quick note, because I am so excited.

Day # 3 in the Planning phase

Well, my plan is still on.  Today, I finished up the first 2 week meal plans.  I will get groceries on Monday and I'll be ready to "Blast off".  I want to share some of my recipes with you, hopefully tomorrow.

Day Two of my Planning to become the Skinny Southern Girl

Good evening Friends,

Well I have been really busy today with planning my Healthy eating with the Weight Watchers plan.


Weight Watchers makes it so easy with the Points tracker, recipe builder & food look up.  You can enter any of your own recipes and the recipe builder will tell you how many points it is.  Then you can save it and it will be in the list of foods for you to look up.  You can save favorites too, to make the look up easier. 

One of the great features is the "Save a Meal".  I have several meals that I will repeat from time to time.  I just build the meal directly into the points tracker and then click on the save meal button.  The next time I want to have that meal, I just choose it from the meal list.  It makes planning the meals a lot easier.


I am working on a two week meal plan.  I do this because I like to only buy groceries every two weeks.  The only things I have to pick up weekly are Lettuce and bananas.  That is because I just eat a lot of bananas and Lettuce just doesn't last long.  I am going to buy the Head of lettuce as opposed to the bags because I feel like that lasts longer.  I'll let you know.  I can always prepare some carrot slivers to add to my salads if I want.

Good Morning Internet Surfers

Welcome to my first day of blogging.  I am and always have been a
"Skinny Southern Girl Wannabe". 
I don't care what anyone tells you, they don't like being fat.  I have always been fat.  All the way through school, I felt like I was bigger than averyone else my age, because I was tall.  Now that I am a grown woman, well let's just say that I am not tall anymore.

I want to change all of that and
I hope that you can help me.

I am 53 yrs old, 5'5" and I weigh 344.1 pounds.
Here are just a few of the reasons that I want to finally do something
  • I live in the hot, humid south and I have to take a sweat rag around with me
  • My body hurts, particularly my knees
  • I have a hideous hang-over belly, some call it an "Apron". Not pretty
  • I don't feel like wearing clothes and the cooler style clothes don't look good on me
  • I have no energy
  • My blood pressure is creeping up
  • The Wii Board won’t register me
  • It is hard to travel by airplane.
  • The car seatbelt is getting shorter all the time
  • Chairs crack when I sit down
  • I can’t get my earring when it goes under the table, because I can’t get down there
  • I can’t maneuver through tables at restaurants
  • I hate Booths in restaurants
  • It is hard to fit into the church pews
  • And the list could go on and on…

Like every other fat girl out there, I have tried a lot of diets.  Years ago I did great on the liquid diet, and I lost all of the excess weight. 
However, I ended up gaining all of it back, plus more. 
The easiest one and the one that you can live with longer is the Weight Watchers diet.  I consider it the best one.   They have great tools online and I can do it on my iPhone.  I really have no excuse.  Here is a link to their website so that you can join me on my journey.weightwatchers.com
I am going to weigh, take my pulse and blood pressure, and measure before I begin, so that I can truly see my results.
I know it's hard, and I have failed on Weight Watchers too, but it is because my head has not been in it.  You have to have your head on straight.  I feel like I have "had enough" and I am not going to take it anymore. 
Please help me to accomplish my goals.
I plan to begin my diet on Monday, August 9th.  I'll post updates on my planning all weekend, so keep following!
